With Vinylify you can make your own 10” vinyl record. For our production process we use original machines from the nineties. We made a short summary of how custom vinyl records are made, for all you vinyl junkies out there!

Lathe-cut records have been around since the beginning of the vinyl format itself. Lathe-cutting is ideal for short-run, one-off records because each piece is individually hand-cut & tested. Pressed vinyl, on the other hand, is aimed at bulk orders – say, for example, 150 copies of one album. If you are looking for a big run like this, finding a pressing plant is a better choice. The individual nature of our lathe-cut vinyls make them an ideal choice for small quantity, limited releases for artists, bands and even music labels.
One-off custom vinyls also make great gifts for occasions like weddings, birthdays, Christmas & Valentine’s Day. And you’re not just restricted to music! Imagine a birthday wish from your children, the sound of your newborn baby or your marriage proposal on vinyl!
Our lathe cutting machines date back to the nineties and were developed by a German engineer that loves vinyl as much as we do. Each vinyl is created using a 1990s Technics 1210 MK2 turntable, a vinyl recorder, and an audio rack that converts digital sound to analogue.
The blank records we use are thicker about 2mm thick. This makes them more durable and far less prone to warp over time. Each piece is cut with a diamond stylus onto the highest quality PVC, before one of our sound specialists carefully tests to the output to make sure that it sounds perfect!
